“Flat butt.” Pancake butt, no-booty-zone, whatever you call it, it can feel like a lacking asset in a booty-obsessed culture. For years, I felt self-conscious about mine. Felt like it was “unattractive,” “unfeminine,” and definitely not Instagram-worthy. Then, I started to focus on the function of my butt. Strength. Power. The ability to squat, jump, and move with agility. And slowly, something shifted. My “flat butt” started to feel…powerful.
I started focusing on exercises that celebrated my leg and glute strength, not tried to sculpt a “perfect” butt. Squats, lunges, deadlifts, functional movements. And as I moved, something else happened. I felt stronger. More athletic. More…capable. My “flat butt” stopped being a source of insecurity and became, surprisingly, a source of empowerment. It became a foundation of strength, a symbol of function, and a reminder that bodies are built for movement, and that strong is beautiful, whatever your butt shape. Your butt, whatever its shape, is powerful. Move with strength, celebrate your body’s abilities, and let your flat butt be a symbol of function over fashion.
